Fun in the Rising Sun

Conichiwa my dear friends!
Throughout the coming month I will be blogging my way around the weird and wonderful "Land of the Rising Sun", Japan; home of Sushi, Soba, Wasabi, Karate, Judo, Sumo, Honda, Toshiba, Yamaha, the Japanese Spitz, Manga, Geishas, Kamikazi and Hari-Kiri - the list goes on. Oh, and incidentally the birthplace of my friend Hiromasa Sebata, but he's not famous.
Anyway, keep up to date with my adventures right here at "AVY IN JAPAN".
Banzaaaaaaaaaaiiiii!

The Fuji Apple - "Live"

The reputation of the Fuji apple precedes it. I'ts a very expensive apple yet it's very large which intuitively suggests to me that it has a diluted flavour. It's known for being one of the tastiest apples in the world; well I'll be the judge of that my followers as tonight, "live" here at "Avy in Japan" i'm gonna eat a Fuji apple to see what all the fuss is about.

So brace yourselves, I'm about to take the first bite. Are you ready? you sure? Ok, here goes.......

Wow, you need a big mouth to take a bite of this baby!
It has a nice crunch...........quite a delicate flavour but enough......it's sweet, quite a firm texture, and it's certainly juicy but it's not sour enough for my liking.

Yep it's a tasty apple, but it didn't blow my mind.
I suppose most of you carnivores out there are either shouting at the screen "it's an apple for f**k sake, not a steak" or have fallen asleep.

In conclusion, I'm not sure what the fuss is all about; I say stick to your Granny Smith, Cox, Braeburn or whatever your faviourite is, cos the Fuji is not worth the extra money; it's a tasty apple but it's really nothing to write home about, so why the hell am I writing this?
